Educator
Dr. Selena has a passion for teaching osteopathic family medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine to medical student and residents. She proudly serves as clinical faculty for her alma mater, the University of Pikeville- Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also serves as the Director of Osteopathic Education for the University of Kentucky Rural (Morehead) Family Medicine Residency Program, and also previously served as their Associate Program Director.

Osteopathic Leader
Dr. Selena has been an active member of the osteopathic profession, serving in leadership roles for numerous organizations.
A long-time volunteer for the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Selena has served on several bureaus, councils, and committees, and was most recently the 2022-2023 chair of the Bureau of Emerging Leaders and the New Physician in Practice member on the AOA Board of Trustees.
Dr. Selena is currently on the Board of Trustees for the Kentucky Osteopathic Medical Association and is serving as the current President-Elect of the organization.

Health Policy Advocate
Dr. Selena was fortunate to complete the American Osteopathic Association's Training in Policy Studies fellowship during her residency training. Since then she has been a strong advocate for heathcare policy change on the local and national levels. She is a regular participant in the annual DO Day on Capitol Hill, where she meets with her Congressional members to advocate for legislation that pertains to patient care and physician wellness.

Entrepreneur
Even as a child, Dr. Selena always had a bit of an entrepreneurial spirit, so when she realized that the American healthcare system was broken and in need of reform, she joined the movement to help restore the patient-physician relationship and started her own clinic, Body Mind Spirit Direct Primary Care.

Veteran
Dr. Selena is a proud, 12-year veteran of the United States Army and attributes her time in the military as the pivotal experience that inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. The discipline, resilience, and dedication she developed in the military continue to shape her approach to patient care, driving her to serve with empathy and excellence. Dr. Selena carries the values she learned in the Army into every aspect of her work as a physician, making her service to others both a profession and a calling.
